Missile Technology Control Regime
An MTCR Outreach Visit to Israel was held on the 9th and 10thof July 2018. The programme for this visit is attached as Annex 1. The delegation was led by MTCR Co-Chairs Ambassador Breifne O’Reilly and Director Bjarni Vestmann and consisted of the Co-Chairs, the TEM Chair and representatives of several MTCR Partners.
The visit was comprised of a DECA seminar on the MTCR at a conference venue in Ramat Gan, an outreach meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a visit to the Israeli Aerospace Industries. The following day, the MTCR delegation met with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the Israeli export control system, proliferation challenges in the region and UAVs. The trip closed with a visit to the Israeli Aerospace Industries.
The MTCR has a long-standing history of productive engagement with Israel, and the Co-Chairs were pleased to see this trend continue during the Ireland-Iceland Chairship. We hope to see more visits in the future.
