Missile Technology Control Regime: Joint Appeal

November 6, 1997 at Tokyo

In view of growing concern over missile proliferation, and in the interest of regional and international security, participating countries in the Missile Technology Control Regime appeal to all States and Authorities to support the non proliferation aims of the Regime and adopt its Guidelines for Sensitive Missile Relevant Transfer. The Partners also encourage regional security fora and institutions to give attention to the role of export controls in preventing the proliferation of missiles capable of carrying nuclear, biological or chemical weapons.
